Indeco by Nexans brings solar energy to health center in Piura, benefiting over 14,200 people

Piura, Peru – April 22nd 2026 – Indeco by Nexans, in partnership with EcoSwell, the Nexans Foundation and key energy sector stakeholders, inaugurated a solar photovoltaic system at the Buenos Aires Health Center in Piura, helping close the gap in access to reliable energy for essential healthcare services.

The project was also supported by strategic partners such as Huemura and Legrand, along with representatives from the local municipality, police station and the health center staff.

Reliable energy for healthcare services in Piura

The installed system has a total capacity of 9.36 kWp, including:

  • 16 solar panels (585W each)
  • 2 inverters (5000VA)
  • 2 controllers (100A)
  • 3 batteries (300Ah)

This renewable energy solution in Peru ensures stable electricity supply for critical areas such as:

  • Emergency room
  • Delivery room
  • Laboratory
  • Pharmacy
  • Cold chain
  • Medical care units
  • Data processing area
  • Common areas

The health center serves more than 14,200 people, mainly from Buenos Aires and surrounding communities, improving the reliability and quality of healthcare services.

Public-private collaboration for sustainable impact

A key highlight of this initiative is the collaboration between private sector, civil society, and public institutions, enabling sustainable energy solutions for underserved communities.

This marks the third health center electrified in northern Peru through the partnership between EcoSwell and the Nexans Foundation, reinforcing a scalable model for social impact and sustainability.
